We are excited to announce the release of KubeDB v2024.8.21! This release introduces support for the kubedb.com/v1 APIVersion across the following KubeDB-supported databases: Elasticsearch Kafka MariaDB Memcached MongoDB MySQL OpenSearch PerconaXtraDB PGBouncer PostgreSQL ProxySQL Redis Redis Sentinel Additionally, all of our supported databases now use petsets.apps.k8s.appscode.com instead of statefulsets. This release also includes features like: Improved operator logging by removing redundant logs and adding missing ones. Support for Druid deployment with TLS-secured MySQL and PostgreSQL cluster as metadata storage.

Reducing load on kube-apiserver In this release, KubeDB operator has been updated to cache access to Secrets. In case of sidecars, we have passed the secrets via environment variable. This will significantly reduce load on kube-apiserver. Add enableServiceLinks to db podSpec Kubernetes exports an environment variable for every single service in the same namespace into every pod by default.
